About Mrs. Bruch

I was born and raised on a ranch outside of Sturgis, and I am an SBHS grad.  After
graduating high school, I
began my coaching career at SBHS and SWMS and attended college at BHSU.  I was then privileged to teach 7th grade geography and reading at SWMS for three years before taking a short break from teaching to stay at home with my children and become a yoga instructor.  During that time, I was also the assistant director and teen services coordinator at the Sturgis Public Library.  Last year, I taught 6th grade social studies at SWMS.  This year, I am thrilled to be in my new position as the High School and Middle School Library Media Specialist.  I can't wait to explore this wonderfully dynamic and collaborative world of library media services!

My husband and I have two young boys, and we are all outdoor enthusiasts, adventure-seekers, and travelers.  In the last few years, we have traveled to the West Coast, the East Coast, Mexico, Canada, Kenya, Tanzania, Honduras, Ireland, Wales, England, France, Spain, and Andorra.  We are also all readers, and we love to see the places that we have read about come to life when we travel.  In addition to traveling and reading, I also love to hike, ski, bike, cook, practice and teach yoga, garden, camp, run, and keep myself challenged in a variety of other ways.
